March is Women’s History month, an opportunity to commemorate and encourage the study, observance and celebration of women’s vital role in America’s past and present.

During national Women’s History Month and on International Women’s Day, Harris County Commissioners Court on Tuesday created a nine-member Women’s Commission that will make recommendations related to economic opportunities and health outcomes for women of all races and ethnicities.

The month of March is recognized as Women's History Month to highlight women's acoomplishments and raise awareness of the continued struggles for women's civil and human rights.
